The Inspiration For Our Baking Mixes

A few years ago, Chelsea was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease, a lifelong condition that affects the body’s digestive system and causes chronic inflammation. Chelsea had a difficult relationship with food following her diagnosis, but after years of trial and error, she found the perfect combination of foods that significantly improved her quality of life, and allowed her to live each day to the fullest.

Food and recipes that excluded those ingredients quickly became referred to within her family as “Chelsea Approved!” Chelsea’s experience redefined her relationship with food and helped to shape her life and career. As a Registered Dietitian, Chelsea helps people discover that dietary changes aren’t as scary as they seem, and that no matter what, there are so many delicious foods to enjoy!

The Vision For Our Baking Mixes

Chelsea’s specialized diet inspired Emily and Adam’s passion for alternative cooking and a healthy lifestyle. When Emily and Adam made the switch to a vegan diet, they explored recipes and foods that fit both Chelsea’s dietary needs and their own lifestyle. When they couldn’t find baked goods and desserts that were both vegan and gluten-free, they decided to make their own!

They created the most delicious recipes for cookies, muffins, and pancakes that everyone loved! After sharing these recipes with their friends and family, it was time to share them with your friends and family! Named after the person that inspired the journey, CHELSEA APPROVED was created.

The Products

Emily and Chelsea grew up making chocolate chip cookie bars with their Dad. Very few cookies would be left after the family shared them right out of the oven! After Chelsea was diagnosed with her autoimmune disease, she could not indulge in the sweet, chocolate treat and could not share in the experience.

Then, Emily and Adam mixed Chelsea Approved chocolate chip cookies. They are the family's new favorite! After the chocolate chip cookies, it was on to other classics, like pancakes and banana bread. Being a family of cinnamon-lovers, Adam introduced snickerdoodle cookies and they passed the family taste-testers with flying colors!
