Baking Details

  • Chelsea Approved is vegan, our mixes are vegan, and our baking will always be vegan.

The mixes were made from scratch to be vegan and will never call for butter, eggs, or other alternative binders. We recommend using common high-heat cooking oils, such as Canola Oil, Vegetable Oil, or Avocado Oil.

  • Yes! Just follow the instructions on the bag and pour the pancake mix into a waffle maker. No need to add any extra ingredients.

  • Yes! The Chelsea Approved Banana Bread Mix makes delicious waffles! Just pour the batter into a muffin pan and bake at 375F. Make sure to check on the muffins regularly until a toothpick comes out clean (approximately 215F internal temperature). This mix is great as 36 mini muffins, 12 medium muffins, or 6 large muffins!

  • Absolutely! You can make as many cookies as you want, from 24 mini cookies to 5 extra large cookies!

For mini cookies or 12 medium cookies: Form the dough into balls on the tray, and then bake.

For extra large cookies: Form the dough into balls, and then pat down into a puck shape before baking. That helps the large cookies spread out as they bake.

  • Yes! Making Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillets is one of our favorites! Just put the dough into a skillet, pat down so it’s an even thickness, and bake until the edges are golden brown.

Check out our Blog Post for more details!

  • Most of the Chelsea Approved baking mixes will call for “neutral cooking oil.” You can use any high-heat oil that you might have around the house. We recommend using one of the following:

    Canola Oil

    Vegetable Oil

    Avocado Oil

If you are using an oil that is solid at room temperature, gently melt it before mixing.

  • Our cookie mixes tend to come out flat and crispy if the dough gets too warm. This can happen if you use warm wet ingredients (like warm oil and water), or if you leave the cookie dough out on the counter for too long. We recommend the following steps to get thick, gooey cookies:

    1) Use cold water to help stiffen up the dough.

    2) Preheat the oven and then mix up the cookie dough so you can form them into balls right away and bake.

    3) Use a cookie scoop if you have one. If you prefer to roll the dough by hand, roll quickly and then transfer to the cookie sheet.

  • We recommend putting either parchment paper or a silicone mat onto your baking sheet before adding the cookies.
